PureApp.reviews is Under Construction...
I know many of you are probably wondering: What exactly is PureApp.reviews, and what’s the vision behind it? Honestly, that’s a fair question.
I know many of you are probably wondering: What exactly is PureApp.reviews, and what’s the vision behind it? Honestly, that’s a fair question.
To start, I’d highly recommend checking out the About PureApp.reviews page, which goes more in-depth about the motivation behind the site, what I hope to build here, and the philosophy driving it all forward.
Here's the short version, for now...
For the past couple of months, I’ve had this idea in the back of my mind to create a platform centered entirely around MacOS app reviews. Yes, there are already plenty of websites that review MacOS apps, but I wanted to bring my own perspective to the conversation — one rooted in genuine curiosity, real-world usage, and honest opinions.
I’m still relatively new to MacOS compared to many long-time Apple users, but I’m also someone who is constantly exploring, testing, and using new applications on a daily basis. That fresh perspective gives me a unique appreciation for apps that truly stand out — whether through great design, functionality, performance, privacy, or overall user experience.
At its core, I want the reviews here to be: Honest. Curated. Pure. That’s exactly where the site’s tagline comes from.
The goal of PureApp.reviews is to become a place where Mac users — whether they’re brand new to MacOS or longtime power users — can discover trustworthy apps and thoughtful recommendations without all the noise, hype, or low-quality rankings that have become so common online.
Looking ahead, I’d also love to work directly with developers whose apps I review. My hope is to not only provide readers with deeper insight into the apps themselves, but also help shine a light on talented developers creating genuinely great software for the MacOS ecosystem.
At the end of the day, this project is really about passion for the platform, appreciation for good software, and building something valuable for the MacOS community.
Sign-Up And Newsletter
For now, you can certainly sign up on the site to become a member. However, I don't have all of that set up yet, as that's still part of the "Under Construction" that I mentioned. I hope to have it all set up in the coming days.
With regard to the newsletter, I'm not sure if that's a route I want to go yet or not. I'm going to leave this up to the community as the site grows a bit and see what option is best at that point in time.
I'm certainly open to suggestions and ideas when it comes to this stuff, as I've never done any kind of newsletter for my own site.
